International Business Machines Corp (IBM) has launched a new e-mail service ‘Verse’ for enterprises that integrates social media, file sharing and analytics to help increase productivity.
“With built-in intelligence and a user-first, user-tested design, IBM Verse offers a faster, better way to manage your communications across devices, organize inbound and outbound information, and focus on what you need most”,IBM said.
The company plans to offer the cloud-based software free to individuals and small businesses, and also hopes to sell a commercial version to businesses.
IBM says it created Verse with privacy and security in mind, although by its nature, the software needs broad access to company data to function.
