Malala Yousafzai has given her first interview since she was targeted and shot by Taliban in October 2012 for her advocacy on behalf of girls’ education
The 15-year-old Pakistani schoolgirl activist has launched a fund to help girls in Pakistan receive an education.
Malala said that she was getting better “day by day” following the treatment she has been receiving at Birmingham’s Queen Elizabeth Hospital.
“I want every girl, every child to be educated” she added.
Malala was speaking before surgery at the weekend to reconstruct her skull and help restore her hearing.
On 9th October 2012 gunmen shot her in the head and the chest.
A bullet was removed from her head by surgeons in Pakistan, before she was flown to the UK for further treatment.
Tens of thousands of people have signed a petition calling for Malala to receive the Nobel Peace Prize.
